Jerita Mitchell (Jae) is a 30 year old native of New Orleans, La. She grew up with a foundation of sports, service, and community leading her to her current career in youth development and youth sports. Jae also played the role of caregiver for her grandparents during the course of the last 7 years, with that ending during her maternal grandmother’s transition in August 2023. Though navigating the many obstacles and challenges of life, while simultaneously trying to find herself, Jae’s love for community and health & wellness always shines through experiencing her strength, her covering you in prayer, a bright smile, or just a push for you have an “attitude of gratitude”.

Jae’s background in health & wellness (M.S. in Kinesiology) married with her experiences in youth development and community service has equipped her with the tools necessary to embark on an inner healing journey and become a model for her family, friends and community. From these experiences, she birthed this website: Starting Where You Are that house a blog: Called to Care. As a coach and caregiver, she has had the privilege of taking care of and loving on everyone else and so now you get to accompany her as she loves on and cares for herself.
